My love of typography, type setting and layouts found a natural home in book design. Book design calls for a certain type of restraint. Reader’s inner world and writer’s voice and storytelling take precedence. Here, design serves the story, leaning on long-established principles of order, precision and balance.
My inclination toward minimalism finds a good outlet here. There is a lot to explore in the relationship between content and form. When typography is handled with care, a book invites the reader into a calm, intimate space where imagination can unfold freely. Design is quiet, but present. There is rhythm, clarity, structure and a sense of warmth.
